The 13th APEC Tourism Ministerial Meeting took place in the Macao Special Administrative Region on June 27. Sun Yeli, Minister of Culture and Tourism of the People’s Republic of China, attended the meeting. This meeting brought together the heads of tourism authorities from all 21 APEC economies.
Under the theme “Digital Innovation, Collaborative Empowerment: Leveraging Tourism for an Asia-Pacific Community,” this meeting explores new vitality, momentum and business models for the high-quality development of the tourism industry. It aims to guide the Asia-Pacific tourism sector toward a more dynamic and sustainable new stage of growth, and cement economic foundation and public support for the building of an Asia-Pacific community. A Chair's Statement of the 13th APEC Tourism Ministerial Meeting was issued.
The 67th APEC Tourism Working Group Meeting was held from June 24 to 25 as a supporting event. On June 26, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China and the government of the Macao Special Administrative Region co-hosted a welcome dinner.
